Beautiful is an eclectic album, recorded with a live band, featuring serious old-school rock, gritty guitar riffs, as well as more subdued numbers.

I’d been writing songs, honing that craft for a long time, and I had come to a place in my life where I could see that everything really is beautiful. I wanted to push that limit with the music, specifically by pairing incongruous, feedback-driven guitar riffs with the more traditional sound of a clean acoustic guitar. It naturally gelled, infusing raw musical elements together and recording live with talented musicians.

Mixed and engineered in Bridgehampton, Long Island with New York-area musicians: Michael Mazzaraco, Joe Haines and Ed Drohan, the album leans heavily on guitar and bass, infusing keyboards from Joe Delia on three tracks and a spiritual sitar from Rick Birmingham on This is My Temple.
